The big question - How much does this all cost?
We are well known throughout the industry for our low cost radius map & variance service. In fact many architects, zoning attorneys and other building professionals outsource these services to us. As far as everything else we try to keep our prices as low as possible.
Expeditor fee - this is the fee collected by our Company. We have 3 levels of service
We do collect reimbursable expenses such as oversize printing fee, Mailing, overnight mail and other expenses related directly to your job.
Surveyor fee - Not all, but many building departments will require a new updated survey. You will have to hire a Licensed Land Surveyor for this service. You may use any surveyor of your choice. Or use our recommended
Architect or Engineer fee - For projects requiring Signed & Sealed construction drawings you will need to hire an Architect or a Professional Engineer. This is generally the most expensive part of the permitting process. You may use the architect of your choice or we can help you choose one that is right for your project.
Municipal fees- these fees are calculated and set by the building department.
Electrical inspection fee - Electrical inspectors are outside agencies which are authorized by the building department to conduct inspections. The fee for this service is generally minimal. In some cases you will need to hire a Licensed Electrician to sign off on it.
Plumbing inspection fee- Most Towns and Villages employ a plumbing inspector. In addition to the plumbing inspector you may need to hire a Licensed plumber to sign off on the plumbing work.
Repairs- When filing permits it is best to budget something for repairs. All these inspectors will always find something. It is usually small like fixing a railing or installing smoke detectors. If they don't find something, they didn't do their job.
